If you have the right attitude, you are most warmly invited to join CUABC, regardless of skill level.

CUABC is a large club and welcomes new members every year. If you simply want to improve your fitness and have fun, then join us. Equally, the structured training and coaching offered to novices has given rise to some of the Club's most successful boxers. Each year there are taster sessions/trials at the start of Michaelmas term for all new boxers and those trying out for the Blues Squad.

Our coaches are dedicated and incredibly experienced, and have made Varsity-winning boxers of students from a wide range of athletic and sporting backgrounds.

Email the President, James Lee at president@cuabc.org to join the Club, or sign up to the mailing list at the University of Cambridge Sports Fair 2019 on Monday 7th October in the University Sports Centre (West Cambridge Site) and at the Official Cambridge University Freshers' Fair '19 on Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th October on Parker's Pieces.

 taster sessions/Trials 2019:

Come along to the first six sessions at the Cambridge Sports Centre for an introduction to CUABC and the basic skills and fitness required for boxing. These first two weeks will cost £20 to be paid for by card or cash on arrival. In the second week there will be the opportunity for those interested in boxing competitively to trial for the Blues Squad. Coached sessions will continue for both the Blues and Development Squad throughout the year to build fitness and learn to box. The taster sessions will be held at the following times at the University Sports Centre (Philippa Fawcett Dr, Cambridge CB3 0AS ):

Sessions will be split into groups according to surname or gender and weight depending on the content of the session. Look out for emails explaining which session to come to after the Freshers’ Fair.

Please note that we welcome members of all gender expressions so please come to whichever session you believe most fits the gender you identify with, or speak to Bea Goddard on vicepresident@cuabc.org if you are unsure which session to attend.

You’ll only need to bring normal gym shoes, tracksuit bottoms/shorts and t-shirts or gym tops for training. Additionally you might want to bring hand wraps, a mouth guard and a skipping rope - but these will all be available to buy. Please see our stand at the Fresher’s Fair to ask any questions and sign up to the mailing list!

Cost:

Annual Development Squad fees are £80 for those who paid for the taster sessions, and £100 for those who did not.

Most colleges will subsidise these membership fees, so make use of the resources available to you.
